Inspire Compassion Part 1: Intro to Trauma Informed Care

During this session, attendees will understand how important it is to prioritize developing a healthy trauma informed approach that supports compassion resilience for not only children and families served but also the staff within their agency. The information in this two part session will support the professional development and well-being of staff in Head Start and Family Services. This session will identify strategies to help build community capacity and agency capacity to foster, refine and improve best practices using trauma informed care principles while providing specific staff feedback on the benefits of trauma informed care and compassion resilience.
Learning Outcomes:
  • To inform how trauma informed care aligns with the Head Start Standards
  • Enhance recognition of and response to trauma and strengthen resilience
  • Discover the many layers of compassion resilience and trauma
The content will provide both description of trauma informed care and compassion resilience details. Participants will receive sample paperwork and hands on opportunities during the presentation.
